The first 16.04 beta is now publicly available of UbuntuBSD, the unofficial Ubuntu derivative that pairs the Ubuntu user-space with the FreeBSD kernel.

UbuntuBSD 16.04 Beta is using the Ubuntu Xenial packages plus various components from FreeBSD 10.3. UbuntuBSD also makes use of BusyBox and OpenRC, for those looking to have a systemd-free Ubuntu system.

Those curious to try out UbuntuBSD can visit UbuntuBSD.org for more details on this forthcoming OS update.
